byte is a social network that lets you create and share short videos that last up to six seconds, much like TikTok or the late Vine. In fact, the app was developed by Dom Hoffman, one of Vine's original authors.

Using byte is as easy as you would expect. To register, all you need to do is choose a username that's not already taken. That's it. From that moment on, you can start watching other users' bytes or create your own content. You can record video using the app itself or upload clips stored in your device's gallery. byte gives you a lot of freedom when customizing your creations.

The byte interface is very simple. There are all kinds of shortcuts for all app sections located at the bottom of the screen: "home", where you can find a constant cascade of bytes; "search", which includes different categories and you can filter through the content; "record", which lets you create your own content; and "activity", where you can check out all your bytes' interactions.

As it happens in other similar social networks, like TikTok or Instagram, in byte you can react in several different ways to other users' content —you can leave a comment, like, rebyte (share it with your followers), or share it directly through any other social network or app in MP4 format. Plus, you can report any inappropriate content.
